Sometimes, a weekend calls for doing absolutely nothing. And with Hurricane Irene bearing down on the east coast, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to do just that. To give y’all a visual…this was me from Friday night until Monday morning…

Wow. Have you heard Martina McBride’s “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” yet? As a cancer advocate and someone who speaks to survivors, this song speaks to the core of “healing” – relying on the love and support of your friends and family to “get you through it.” Watching this video, which features some pretty kick-ass tough women, I was transported back to 18, watching my mom struggle with the daily trials of having cancer and doing my best to be the love and support she needed.
Robin Roberts from “Good Morning America” is featured in the video. She is, hands down, at the top of my “inspirational women” list! Please take a moment to watch the clips below. Also remember to love on those that you do because whether it’s cancer or another struggle, your encouragement may be just what they need to get through it!
